Our First Grading Period is Completed 10/19/2009
We are now officially through our first grading period of four. The first report card will go home Thursday, and the busy second grading period has begun. Please note that first and second grading period grades are averaged for the semester grade. I have enjoyed getting to know my students and their parents. All seem eager to utilize the internet for their children's success. Please take a peek at the testing page found on this site. I have linked the Georgia Dept. of Education's CRCT study guide as well as teacher-suggested strategies for success. You may find these helpful. A New School Year! 07/26/2009
Like anyone I love summer! I've had lots of fun visiting my family, enjoying nature, reading lots of great books, and even cleaning out drawers (they look wonderful). I also love the excitement that a new school year brings. Pretty soon I will have a whole new set of students to get to know. Together we wiil grow in academics and in friendships. Fifth grade can be challenging and at times trying as you prepare to leave elementary school. My goal is to make it your best school year ever! How's that? Since we all tend to value things more when we've worked for them, you'll practice hard work (you can do it!), perseverance, and respect for all. It's the recipe for a memorable and best fifth grade! Enjoy the last few days of summer vacation with a good book. Even better-write a summary of it and your opinion of it (you can even post it on this blog to inspire others). You'll be that much ahead of the homework game, exercise your brain, and you'll have fun reading! Each teacher, including me, has lots of ideas for learning that we know you'll enjoy. Please visit this website often as I will continue to post helpful information. Drop me a line, and tell me what you've been doing this summer. See you soon! My Website is for You! 08/05/2008
I have a website! I am excited to have it. I hope that it becomes a convenient way to stay in touch. I have asked my former students what they would like to see and have taken note. |
