About Me
Hello, and thank you for inquiring about me. This is my fourth year at Creek View Elementary, and it is so good to be here! Let me tell you a little about myself. I am from St. Louis, Missouri and have five sisters and one brother. We grew up in an Italian section of the city affectionately referred to as "The Hill". Visit, and you will have great restaurants and grocery stores to choose from. My relatives own one of each, so I can direct you. I attended the University of Missouri where I earned a bachelor's degree in journalism.
Soon after graduation I was married, moved to Michigan, had my first of three sons, and began working at a newspaper. We then moved to Massachusetts where my twin sons were born just months after our arrival. I decided to stay home to be with my three boys.
My teaching career began when we moved to Tennessee. When the twins were two, I thought it best I get out of the house at times. I took a part-time job as an assistant in an adult literacy class. I fell in love with teaching! I returned to college to earn my master's degree in education from the University of Memphis and have been in the field of education ever since. I taught middle school language arts before moving to Minnesota. There I spent one year teaching third grade before moving to Georgia. I spent two years in preschool and one in kindergarten before coming to Creek View Elementary School to teach fifth grade.
My Three Sons
My family life continues to change with each passing year. We are now all about college and moving on! Our oldest just graduated in May 2009 from law school at my husband's and my alma mater- The University of Missouri - and is job searching. Wish him luck! Our twins are attending the University of South Carolina and are due to graduate in May 2010. It is possible that we may have three gainfully employed sons within a year! My students keep me busy now, and I feel fortunate to be teaching at Creek View.
