CRCT
The image at left will link you to the Georgia Department of Education website page that answers many questions concerning the CRCT that all Georgia public school students take. Here you will find study guides, statewide scores, content descriptions, and much more. Students in fifth grade must pass (with a minimum score of 800) the math and reading portions of the test in order to progress to the sixth grade. Although the official CRCT is administered in the spring each year, fifth graders take several Checkpoint Tests throughout the school year to determine both strong and weak areas in learning. These results help teachers determine areas of content that may need further instruction.
Iowa Tests of Basic Skills
Please click on the image at left to link to the publisher's website. The website will describe to you in detail what the ITBS is testing, number of questions, and purpose in testing. Our fifth graders take the ITBS in the fall of each year. Results will be sent home. Unlike the CRCT, the ITBS compares our students with those across the country. A National Percentile Rank (NPR) of fifty is considered average.
